Watched PAYYANS from Karunagappally TNP. Theater status-70%
In one word- a clean Entertainer, with some good messages.
No need of a detailed review for this film as the movie is so simple.
First half with good comedy by Jayasurya and Suraj numbers
. Bonding b/w hero and mother worked out well.
Film has all elements to fetch family audience.
Second half is simply excellent with sentiments and emotional scenes
Climax is best which is really touching.
Good direction, script, dialogues. Songs were superb. Thennal song is the highlight.
Performance wise- Jayasurya rocks.., his character is outstanding, another career break for him. Lal also did well and need an applause.
Anjali looks gorgeous and delivered a good perfromance.Rohini,Suraj.Janardhanan also good.
No negatives to markdown. I really liked the theme of the film and the message passing through it.
Go n watch it, everyone can enjoy the movie, Strongly recommends for family audience.

Payyans - Gunavumilla , Doshavumilla . Oru Bandhavumillatha 1st half . 2nd half is better.
Positives - Jayasurya & Lal's perfomance with little jokes from Pakru.

Saw payyans Today 2.45 PM From Thalassery Liberty Mini Paradise(300 Seat)
Status-Almost Housefull
Leo Thadevoos made his notable debut through Pachamarathanalail.That interested me to this movie.But trailer disappointed me.But after reading +ve reviews I went to see this movie but with out big expectations.It is a nice movie.
The film depicts transition of irresponsible youth.Jayasurya rocked in that role.Rohini played role of mother well.The first half is about Mother-son relationship.Edaykkide nalla comedy varunnu.Surajum atyavisham nannayi cheythu.Athinidayil Heronie Anjali Angaditheru fame varunnu.She was also good in that small role.First half was moving smoothly bud later it became serial type and was lagging.Kooval eppol varum ennu prateekshichu erikkumbol first half endil oru twist varunnu.That saved the first half.
Second half is much better than first half.I would say there was a laugh riot many times-long time since I have experienced that.Second half is about Father-son relationship.Lal was superb.Even in the second half there are some loose ends which weakens the movie.The film ends nicely.But the climax could have been better.
Leo thadeevos has included many commercial elements than his first film.Hi direction was OK.Screenplay was fast moving.But because of that he was unable to make audience focus on some aspects.The intensity of film was reduced.Also screnplay has some loose ends.But it is a decent one.It is very predictable but audience will like it.Comedy portion was handled well specially in second half.Flashback scenes of Rohini was bad.She was supposed to be young.But she looked 40 years old.That should have been avoided or modified.Perfomance wise Jayasurya was good especially in Comic timing.But he was not that good in serious scenes-Need improvement.Lal,Rohini,Anjali and others played their parts well.M

The film gets really interesting from here....Jayasurya's dad [Lal] comes back from a "long voyage'' and he rehabilitates his son bt teaching him discipline in life....how he becomes a disciplined and responsible lad is rest of the story...!!!

‘പയ്യന്സ്’ അടിച്ചു തകര്ക്കുന്നു!

ലിയോ തദേവൂസ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത പയ്യന്സ് തിയേറ്ററുകളില് ആവേശമാകുന്നു. മികച്ച പ്രതികരണമാണ് കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ റിലീസിംഗ് കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളില് നിന്നും ലഭിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. ജയസൂര്യയുടെയും ലാലിന്റെയും മികച്ച പ്രകടനമാണ് ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഹൈലൈറ്റ്. ‘അങ്ങാടിത്തെരു’ ഫെയിം അഞ്ജലിക്ക് പെര്ഫോം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള മികച്ച അവസരമില്ലെങ്കിലും തനിക്ക് ലഭിച്ച കഥാപാത്രത്തോട് നീതിപുലര്ത്തി.
കെട്ടുറപ്പുള്ള തിരക്കഥയാണ് പയ്യന്സിന്റെ ശക്തി. വളരെ ലളിതമായ മുഹൂര്ത്തങ്ങളിലൂടെ വികസിക്കുന്ന ഈ സിനിമ ഒരു പ്രണയകഥയാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ഒട്ടേറെ ട്വിസ്റ്റുകളോ സങ്കീര്ണമായ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളോ ഈ സിനിമയില് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാനാവില്ല. വളരെ ഡയറക്ടായി കഥ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ആ രീതി പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ആകര്ഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം, ആലപ്പുഴ, കോഴിക്കോട്, പത്തനംതിട്ട സെന്ററുകളില് നിന്ന് ലഭിക്കുന്ന റിപ്പോര്ട്ടുകള് അനുസരിച്ച് പയ്യന്സ് ഹിറ്റാകുമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പാണ്. എറണാകുളത്ത് നിന്ന് സമ്മിശ്ര പ്രതികരണമാണ് ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. പാലക്കാട് എല്ലാ ഷോയ്ക്കും കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ തിരക്കാണുള്ളത്.
ലിയോ തദേവൂസിന്റെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ചിത്രമാണ് പയ്യന്സ്. ‘പച്ചമരത്തണലില്’ ആയിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ ചിത്രം. എന്തായാലും പയ്യന്സിലൂടെ ലിയോയുടെ കരിയറും വഴിത്തിരിവിലെത്തുകയാണ്.
ജോസി എന്ന അടിപൊളിപ്പയ്യനായാണ് ജയസൂര്യ അഭിനയിക്കുന്നത്. ജോസിയുടെ അമ്മ പദ്മയായി രോഹിണിയും അച്ഛന് ജോണ് വര്ഗീസായി ലാലും അഭിനയിക്കുന്നു. ജോസി റേഡിയോ ജോക്കിയായി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന റേഡിയോ സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ സൌണ്ട് എഞ്ചിനീയര് സീമയുടെ റോളിലാണ് അഞ്ജലി എത്തുന്നത്.
സുരാജ് വെഞ്ഞാറമ്മൂടിന്റെയും ഗിന്നസ് പക്രുവിന്റെയും കോമഡി രംഗങ്ങളും പ്രേക്ഷകര്ക്കിഷ്ടമാകുന്നു. അല്ഫോണ്സ് ഈണം പകര്ന്ന ഗാനങ്ങളും ശ്രവണസുന്ദരമാണ്

watched from ekm kavitha....
status was poor, world cup might be a reason, but film is not a crowd puller...
ivar vivahitarayal aayitt cheriya saamyam undu, in attitude of hero to lyf.....
jayasurya once again proved hez good only 4 negative roles, in many scenes he tries to imitate dileep.
1st half was very boring, 2nd half was pretty good with lal coming back....
pakru was terrible.........nilavaramillatta comedies...
MOST IRRITATING WAS THE SONGS..........
only +ve is lal..... he did justice to his role......
verdict sure flop........

just an average film...will flop becoz three excellent films(traffic marikkundorukunjadu and arjunan sakshi) are already running successfully in kerala................chances r very low for payyans to be a hit or even an average grosser

Saw the film at Thrissur Sapna. The theater status was very poor for Matinee and first show.
Compared to the other films in the theater now like Race and Makeup Map, this is definitely a winner. With a average story line, some great comedy scenes and a pretty good second half, this got material to pass 2.25 hours.
It do have a big set of negatives. But they are either small or are somewhat expected. Songs were all bad. Though some emotional scenes have come off well, there are many which haven't.
Overall its a can be watched film.. My rating 6/10
