Directorate of film festivals called for the entries for 58th National Film Awards for the movies released in 2010. The last date for the nominations is on 7th April. Is there any chance of Malayalam movies?

7 malayalam films have been selected for the national film awards by the regional jury. Last year onwards there are two screening one is by the regional jury ..There are five regional juries:North, West, South (Tamil and Malayalam) and South (Kannada, Telugu) etc...

The following films have been nominted by the regional juries to the central jury:

Pranchyettan
Makara Manju
Gaddama
Veetilkeullla Vazhi
Athamakatha
Adamaninte Makan
Janaki

The films electra, yugapurushan td dasan were not nominated

I thought gaddama was censerd in 2011..so there is a chance for kavya madhavan

the central jury if they want they can call back the movies not nomintated by the regional jury...but the procedure is not easy and they have to get the majory form the central jury panel for the recall.....

Seven Malayalam Films To Compete For National Award
Seven Malayalam films, including Makara Manju (Mist of the Capricorn) by noted film-maker Lenin Rajendran, have been chosen by the South zone selection committee of the jury to compete in this year's National Film Awards.

Other Malayalam films are Pranchiyettan and the Saint by Ranjith, Veetilekkulla Vazhi by Biju, Gaddama by Kamal, Atmakatha by Premlal, Adaminte Makan Abu by Salim Ahamed and Janaki by M G Sasi.

Culture department sources said three other critically acclaimed films Yugapurushan (R Sukumaran), T D Dasan standard B (Mohan Raghavan) and Electra (Shyamaprasad) failed to make it to the list.
