China town is superb
Watched 'China town ' FDFS from Trivandrum Kairali.Its an out and out comedy feast. Directors Rafi-Mecartin has given a good festival mood film. Hollywood flick Hangover has inspired the 2nd half of the movie. The Comedy Kings of Malayalam Cinema - Mohanlal, Jayaram and Dileep has excelled in their respective roles.Suraaj venjaramood is back to his best after a long time. Sumo wretler D'Souza Libor and Villian Pradeep Rawat(Ghajini fame) also gave notable performances. The film is definitely worth a watch.

All the heros are having equal importance in CHINA TOWN same like that of Happy Husbands or more than that. Movie starts showing scenes of the older generation of the heros.. After that present story.. First half full of comedies.. Lal spars with a an action scene in First half.. and Dileep rocked the theatres with kidu comedies.. Jayaram good performance..
2nd half with 50-50 serious & comedy.. Suraj did an above avg performance.. Heroines except kavya is not having much importance in the first half.. Songil kaanunna pole pranayathil maathram othungi nilkunathalla CHINA TOWN. its is based on the three hero characters.. Good songs, Good camera, Good BGM, ellathilum oru freshness und.. than that of CB. Action scenes polum much better than CB.. Lal rocked in songs after a long time.. Good choreography.. Ee movieyil dialogue presentation vazhiyulla comedyekaal expressiosns aanu nammale chiripikunath.. 3 perum ore samayam expressions varuthumbol aare nokanam ennu doubt adikum.. so have to watch it more than 1 time to enjoy well.. First half was execellent with lots of comedies n gud action sequences, infact best comedy in malayalam in recent times. Second half was above average and it was bit serious. Watched CHINATOWN FDFS frm PAYYANUR Rajadhani..Theater status 101% nd terrific atmosphere.All together its a comedy entertainer with little bit heroism,action etc frm Lalettan. Dlieep,Jayaram all r good in d movie.First half comedy track mainly backed by dileep. Thn 2nd half is a rip off of HANGOVER in an extent..Ths songs all were good.. Its made waves in theater whenever lalettan has d dance steps..I thnk thst song in tht COWBOY set up will make d people craze.. Felt little bit l probz with screenplay in 2nd half especially towards end.. Then dont know, felt some thng wrong with Capt.Raju's performance.. All together it 's a super hit material. I feel families nd mass will prefer this one 4 dis VISHU..

after seeing these super stars..with some senseless scenes...
Rafi-meccartin tried to use the formula of"vellam adi" that clicked in Hallo..bt it was simply waste....
MOHANLAL tried hard to be our old LALETTAN..bt..
the some scenes...especially the scences of JAYARAM n DILEEP were great..those made me laugh..with.. dileep in full flow...
the scene were LAL n JAYARAM try to see whether the DILEEP'S leg works..reminded the same scene..from an old movie..with the same DILEEP n JAGATHY SREEKUMAR..in it.
first have was better among the two..halfs..
scenes with the dead body n MOHANLAL..on telephone..was also similar to hallo..
the scene were they ran like hell..in front of hospital..on seeing the sumo like thing...was..just..unbearble...
the songs were simply..waste..especiallly..with IDEA STAR SINGERS..
dnt knw why they were there...!!

The big positives has to be the combo scene of JAYARAM n DILEEP...

Story
Story is a mix of 80's Hindi movies & hollywood flick THE HANGOVER.
Saviour(Mohanlal), Jayakrishnan(Shanavas), Shankar & Wilson Gomez(Captain Raju) runs a 4 star casino in GOA in 1986. All except Gomez & the kids of all other three gets killed by baddie played by Pradeep Rawat(Ghajini fame). After 25 years, Gomez returns to GOA with his daughter Emily(Poonam Bawja). He brings together the sons of his friends to handover his casino. watched from q cinemas(ekm)......
only 1 word- entertainer.
1st half was superb, lalettan rocked, dileep & jayaram well supported the scenes...
2nd half was just avg, direction was very poor.
+ves all the actors, except captain raju.

സമയം 10.30 തലശേരി-പ്രഭ 100%
ചൈനാ ടൌണില് വച്ച് നായകന്മാരുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കള് കൊല്ലപ്പെടുന്നിടത്തു നിന്നാണ് പടം തുടങ്ങുന്നത്.പിന്നെ വര്‍ത്തമാന കാലത്തിലേക്ക് വരുന്നു. ചൈനാ ടൌണിലെ കാസിനോയിലേക്കു നായകന്മാര് പോകുന്നു.അദ്യ 15-20 മിനുറ്റ് മാത്തുക്കുട്ടിയേയും ബിനോയിയേയും ചൈനാ ടൌണിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടു പോകാനുള്ള സക്കറിയയുടെ ശ്രമങ്ങളാണ് കാണിക്കുന്നത്.ജയറാമിന്റെ ഇന്റ്രൊഡക്ഷന് സീന് നന്നായി.ദിലീപിന്റേതു നല്ല ബോറായി.’ക്രിസ്ത്യന് ബ്രദേര്‍സിന്റെതിനു സമാനമായ് ഇന്റ്രൊഡക്ഷന് സീന് ആയിരുന്നു മോഹന്‍ലാലിന്റേതു അതു പോലെ തന്നെ ബോറായി.ഗുണ്ടയായ് മാത്തുക്കുട്ടിയെ ധ്യാനകേന്ദ്രത്തില് നിന്നാണ് ചൈനാ ടൌണിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നത്.ആ 15-20 മിനുറ്റ് കണ്ടാല് പടം കൈവിട്ടു പോയി എന്നു തോന്നും.എന്നാല് അവര് ചൈനാ ടൌണില് എത്തുന്നതോടെ പടം മുഴു നിള് എന്റ്ര്റ്റെയിനര് ആയി പരിണമിക്കുന്നു.സുരാജ് ഒന്നാം പകുതിയില് വലിയ് ബോറാക്കിയില്ല..പൊട്ടിച്ചിരിപ്പിച്ച ഒന്നാം പകുതി വളരെ നന്നായി.ഒരു ത്രില്ലര് ആണ് രണ്ടാം പകുതി എന്ന തോന്നല് തന്നു കൊണ്ട് ഒന്നാം പകുതി അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.
രണ്ടാം പകുതി തുടങ്ങുന്നതു തന്നെ ഐഡിയ സ്റ്റാര് സിങ്ങര്‍മാരെ കാണിച്ചു കൊണ്ടാണ്.’മദാമ്മയ്ക്കു കൂവലോടെ വരവേല്‍പ്പ്.സുരാജിന്റെ ചളി തുടങ്ങി.’അയ്യേ പടം കൈവിട്ടു പോയി എന്നു പ്രേക്ഷകരില് നിന്ന് ആത്മഗതം.അതു സത്യമായി. ഐഡിയ സ്റ്റാര് സിങ്ങര്‍മാര് ഉള്ള് ഒരു പാട്ടായിരുന്നു പിന്നീട്.അതോടെ തിരക്കഥയും സിനിമയും തമ്മിലുള്ള ബന്ധം വിഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.ലാഗ് തുടങ്ങി.പിന്നെ പടം മുഴുനീലെ ബോറായിരുന്നു.ഒന്നാം പകുതിയില് അമിതമായി മയക്കുമരുന്ന് കഴിച്ച നായകന്മാര്‍ക്കു എന്താണ് സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാന് കഴിയാത്ത അവസ്ഥയിലായി.ഇതേ അവസ്ഥ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്കും.പിന്നീട് കോമഡി കാണിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങളൊക്കെ പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു.സുമോ ഗുസ്തിക്കാരനെ കൊണ്ടു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച ഗുണം ഉണ്ടായില്ല.വെറുതേ കാശ് കളഞ്ഞു.ബോററ്റിയുടെ പാരമ്യത്തില് പടം അവസാനിച്ചു.

മോഹന്ലാല്,ദിലീപ്,ജയറം എന്നിവര് ഒന്നാം പകുതിയില് വളരെ നന്നായി. രണ്ടാം പകുതിയില് അവര്‍ക്കും കാര്യമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാനായില്ല.നായികമാര്‍ക്ക് കാര്യമായിട്ട് ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാനില്ല.നിരാശപ്പെടുത്തി. പ്രദീപ് റാവത്തിന്റെ വില്ലന് വേഷം വളരെ ദുര്‍ബലമായിരുന്നു.ജഗതിയെ എന്തിനാണ് കൊണ്ടു വന്നതു എന്നു മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല.
റാഫി-മെക്കാര്ട്ടിന് ഒന്നാം പകുതിയില് പ്രേക്ഷകരെ നന്നായി രസിപ്പിക്കാന് കഴിഞ്ഞു.എന്നാല് രണ്ടാം പകുതിയില് അവര് ദയനീയമായി പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു.തിരക്കഥ രണ്ടാം പകുതിയില് നന്നേ പാളിപ്പോയി.ഇതേ ടീമിന്റെ ‘ഹലോ’യിലും സമാനമായ സംഗതിയാണ് നടന്നതു.എന്നാല് ഇതിലും വളരെ മെച്ചപ്പെട്ടതായിരുന്നു ഹലോയുടെ രണ്ടാം പകുതി.
ജാസി ഗിഫ്റ്റ് സംഗീതം പകര്‍ന്ന് പാട്ടുകളില് ‘അരികെ നിന്നാലും’ വളരെ മികച്ച സന്ദറ്ഭത്തിനൊത്ത മെല്‍ഡി ആയിരുന്നു.എന്നാല് ചിത്രീകരണം വഷളായിരുന്നു. ബാക്കിയെല്ലാ പാട്ടുകളും തട്ടിക്കൂട്ട്.രാജാമണിയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തല് സംഗീതം നന്നായിരുന്നു.എഡിറ്റിങ്ങ് ഡോണ് മാക്സിന്റെ മികവിനനുസരിച്ചു ഉയര്‍ന്നില്ല.
ഇപ്പോള് മലയാളത്തില് ധാരാളമായി കാണുന്ന സംഗതിയാണ് നല്ല ഒന്നാം പകുതിയെ മോശം രണ്ടാം പകുതി കൊണ്ട് നശിപ്പിച്ച് പടം കുളമാക്കുന്നതു.ഇവിടെയും അതു തന്നെയാണ് സംഭാവിച്ചത്.സ്റ്റാര്‍ട്ടിങ്ങില് പാളിച്ച സംഭവിച്ച് പിന്നീട് അതിവേഗതില് സ്പ്രിന്റ് ചെയ്ത് ഒറ്റുക്കം മുട്ന്തി മുടന്തി ഫിനിഷ് ചെയ്ത പടമാണ് ചൈനാ ടൌണ്.എന്നലും അടുത്തിറങ്ങിയ ‘മള്‍ട്ടിസ്റ്റാറ്ര് പീഡനമായ്’ ’ക്രിസ്ത്യന് ബ്രദേര്‍സിനേക്കാള് മെച്ചം.
പിന്നെ ഈ ചിത്രം വിജയം അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്നില്ല.എന്നാല് അത്ത്രം ചിത്രങ്ങല് വിജയിക്കുന്നതു ഒരു പുതുമയേ അല്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ട് ‘അദ്ഭുതം’ എന്ന വികാരം തന്നെ ഇപ്പോള് ഇല്ലാതയിരുക്കുന്നു.അതിനാള് ഈ ചിത്രം വിജയിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില് അദ്ഭുതം ഉണ്ടാകില്ല.
ഹാങ്ങ് ഓവര് എന്ന ചിത്രം ഞാന് കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. പക്ഷെ വിക്കിപ്പീഡിയയില് കഥ വായിച്ചു നോക്കിയപ്പോള് ചില സാമ്യതകള് കാണുന്നുണ്ട്. റാഫി-മെക്കാര്ട്ടിന് ടീമിന്റെ ‘ഹലോ’ ‘സെല്ലുലാര്’ എന്ന ചിത്രം പാതി കോപ്പിയടിച്ചതായിരുന്നു.ഇവിടെയും സ്വന്തം ഭാവനയും സര്‍ഗാത്മകതയും ഉപയോഗിച്ചപ്പോള് രണ്ടാം പകുതി ‘ധന്യമാക്കിയതാണെന്നു‘ കരുതുന്നു.

Shoddy piece of cinema with a "matric of plot-lines" or precisely no interesting plot of its own. Insipid comedies and horrible songs were really untolerable and every actor hams big time and both were happening frequently. Not quite the worst movie in recent times, but still pretty harsh. Second half was loosely based on "Hangover" which was also interminably boring. Along with "Love in Singapore" this movie earns the label of career low for Rafi Mecartin. Positive reviews here forced me to see this movie at the earliest otherwise there would be zero room for disappointment.

Watched from tvm kairali yesterday. Its showing in 3 theatres in tvm, but still all the theatres were full. Its a usual rafi mecartin movie which offers lots of comedy. every one has performed well. Suraj has done especially well. The scene with ranjini haridas should have been avoided. aa scene nu mathrame kooval undayirunnullu. Without any doubt china town will be winner of this summer.

Saw the highly overatted film CT ,the entire crew shown how a gud theme can change to a below average crap the first half gone gud with stunning comedies ,but that effort gone vain in the 2nd half.The film is entirely changing in the 2nd half.Acting part is gud song r below average, stunts ok, remaing script and direction waist .i can giv only 4/10 [ for 1st part]
Saw the highly overatted film CT ,the entire crew shown how a gud theme can change to a below average crap the first half gone gud with stunning comedies ,but that effort gone vain in the 2nd half.The film is entirely changing in the 2nd half.Acting part is gud song r below average, stunts ok, remaing script and direction waist .i can giv only 4/10 [ for 1st part]

Saw China town from Apsara, Calicut
Except for few comedies in the first half there is nothing good in this movie :O
2nd half was a torture...:x
Mohanlal was ok.. his role is almost similar 2 that he did in chotta mumbai
Jayaram really did well.. Dileep who made me laugh in the 1st half was irritating throughout the 2nd half

I am really disappointed.In my opinion the try for a throughout comedy flick didnt succeed.2nd half was huge disappointment.1st half was entertaining,but at parts.And importantly, get rid of that guy called "Suraj Venjarammood",he just sucks through with many crap comedies
Direction and Script:
I felt that the direction was stunning.But a way below average script sealed the deal..I strongly believe that the script would have been better if the scriptwriters didnt try for providing equal screen space for the 3 superstars.Definitely Another multistar impact on a script.Sad that rafi-mecartin too is following path lead by fasil,rajasenan,etc who were oldtime lions and present day cats . .
Casting and Performance:
The 3 stars excelled well in their respective comedy roles.Suraj and the star singer team was completely unnecessary.Also scenes with sumo were crap.Comic relief only provided by the 3 main stars.Then coming to part of heroines,Poonam and Dipa looked gorgeous,but failed miserably in acting part.Kavya didnt had much to perform.Not including kavya in negatives list only coz of impact she made in my mind through gadhama.The villian was good.The role of Home minister could have been done by some other prominent actors..

The latest multistarrer in the town- 'China Town' turned out to be a terrible experience for me.Mohanlal playing a goonda,Dileep repeating the stale numbers used by 'Ayyappa Baiju' in stage shows and Jayaram redoing his grunting and growling act',that is what 'China Town' has to offer .Never expect a 'Punjabi House','Hello' or even an 'Ee Parakkum Thalika'(a low brow comedy,but enjoyable to a great extent) from this mess of a film. Rafi Mekkartin and co have wasted not one but three of the most talented actors(Mohanlal,Jayaram,Dileep) in Malayalam cinema in this idotic film. If you are an imbecile or a toddler, you would thoroughly enjoy the movie;else stay way from this mess.
Ps: I am extremely tired to write a detailed review for this terrible copy of 'Hangover'.Believe me, this is one of those rare films' the prints of which deserve to be used as toilet paper!
